The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance is a comic book series and a prequel to the Netflix series of the same name. It will be released in twelve issues beginning in September 2019.[1]

It is divded into three arcs:

The Quest for the Dual Glaive: Ordon and Fara set out for the Caves of Grot to retrieve the Dual Glaive and save Stone-in-the-Wood from an impending attack by the Arathim. Written by Nicole Andelfinger and illustrated by Matias Basla.
The Ballad of Hup & Barfinnious: Hup sets out of a journey as the squire of the bard Barfinnious, who promises to train him to become a Paladin. Written by Adam Cesare and illustrated by French Carlomagno.
As-yet-untitled third arc: Mayrin becomes the All-Maudra and, unsure of who she can trust and if she is worthy of her position, takes a journey across the Silver Sea. Written by Matthew Erman and illustrated by Mi-Gyeong Jo.[2]


Synopsis Edit

Return to another world, another time, Before the Age of Wonder. The Skeksis rein over Thra, but there are distant echoes of rebellion. Gelfling and unlikely heroes emerge to champion what is good and just, but their paths to legend started long ago. Epic tales of adventure, magic, and mystery send us back in time to the Age of Resistance to witness the untold histories that forged these protectors of Thra.[3]
