skekMal, The First Thing I Remember Is Fire
SkekMal was the Skeksis' Hunter. He considered himself a sportsman, though in truth he was a brutal killer, feared even by his own kind for his wild nature. He captured his prey through all manner of traps, and bore a scar across his face, which he concealed with a 'spirit-like' skull mask. He was very fast, having the ability to dodge arrows and disappear into the trees. Few Gelflings knew about him, as he typically ate his prey, though his feats did become the source of fearsome legend.[1] Unlike other Skeksis, he continued to use his second pair of arms, which are on his back, where others have stopped using them.
Personality
Although he considers himself a "sportsman," skekMal is nothing more than a brutal hunter. The wildest of the Skeksis, he frightens even his own kind. He uses all manner of traps and bears a scar across his face. Lightning fast, he can actually dodge arrows and disappear into the trees in front of him. And whatever he catches…he generally eats. Although most Gelfling clans do not know skekMal, they know the legend of "the Hunter" and they know that no one has ever escaped alive. SkekMal uses a 'spirit-like' mask to conceal his true identity.

While skekMal was on good terms with the Emperor Skeksis, the other Skeksis feared him, and skekMal's true loyalty was only himself. He took pride in being the strongest, fastest, and most athletic of the Skeksis, and despite Skeksis law prohibiting the murder of other Skeksis, skekMal was not afraid to threaten other Skeksis if they attempted to stop him claiming a trophy from his prey. Like most Skeksis, he believed Gelfling were inferior to him due to how weak they were in comparison, and considered them such easy prey that hunting them was not worth it unless they proved to be a true danger. He also expresses some disgust towards his fellow Skeksis for their indulgent lifestyle, calling them petty.
Biography
During the events of Age of Resistance, skekMal is summoned by skekSil to hunt down Rian,[2]and manages to capture him, killing Rian's father Ordon in the process. He is later convinced by the Chamberlain to give him temporary custody of the Gelfling for his agenda.[3] When Rian escaped, skekMal renewed his pursuit of the Gelfling to the Crystal Desert where at The Circle of the Suns he injured both skekGra and urGoh by throw a dagger into the former's hand and then got fatally wounded by his counterpart, urVa, while abducting Brea to bait Rian to pursue him. He was restored to life when Aughra offered her essence, but skekMal inevitably meets his end when urVa regained consciousness and took his own life to end his Skesis counterpart for good, restoring Aughra.
