Ordon was a Gelfling of the Stonewood Clan and the father of Rian, who acted as captain of the Castle Guard.

Biography

Hero of the Arathim Wars

Your leadership continues to impress, yes yes. Without it, your warriors would be reduced to nothing but the helmets they wear.

Thirty trine prior to his death, Ordon participated in the Arathim Wars and proved decisive in achieving victory during the First Battle of Stone-in-the-Wood, during which he wielded the Dual Glaive. After the battle, he split the Glaive in half, entrusting one piece to Maudra Argot and hiding the other in the furnace of Stone-in-the-Wood.[2]

Age of Resistance

Ordon became captain of the Castle Guard, storied for his heroism, but disdained his son Rian's lack of discipline. He accompanied skekOk the Scroll-Keeper and skekLach the Collector on their trip to Ha'rar for a tithing ceremony, protecting them and leaving Tolyn in charge of the castle while he was away, rather than his own son.[3]

Returning to the castle, Ordon was briefed on his son allegedly committing murder, and so he asked for an audience with Emperor skekSo to request clemency, claiming his son to be innocent. The Skeksis however asserted that Gurjin backed up their claim, saying that Gurjin and Rian conspired to steal from them and killed Mira to keep her quiet. Ordon then asked to be given leave to find Rian in order to dreamfast, but this alarmed the Skeksis and they ordered him not to, lest an "infection" make him "sick" too. Grabbing onto the hope that Rian was not responsible for his actions, Ordon believed them and asked if the Skeksis would heal him, which skekSo agreed to, sending Ordon away to bring Rian and the essence back to the castle.[4]

Ordon went to Maudra Fara, sharing the Skeksis lies with her about Rian being sick and insane. When Rian arrived to beseech Fara, Ordon and Fara's guards tried to capture Rian only for him to drop the light fixtures above on top of them. Entangled and being stung by the glowing insects within the now-broken lights, absolute pandemonium ensued and no one was able to locate Rian until he had reached the ceiling of the room. Ordon noticed his son just as he fled out of the building through the top.[5]

Tracking Rian down, Ordon discovered his son dreamfasting with Naia, Kylan, and Tavra. Overcome with temptation, Ordon joined the dreamfast, learning of the Skeksis' crimes and realizing his mistake to doubt his son. They departed for Ha'rar to warn the All-Maudra, but Ordon knew the Skeksis would hunt them, and skekMal began pursuit. Ordon had Rian run ahead as bait so that he could attack skekMal while distracted, and although the surprise attack allowed Ordon to break part of skekMal's mask off, skekMal simply began utilizing his other two arms to duel both Rian and Ordon simultaneously. Defeating father and son handily, skekMal nearly stabbed Rian until Ordon heroically launched himself at skekMal, taking them both into the field of Gobbles which began to consume them both, killing Ordon.[6]
