And now we are creating weapons? This is not the Gelfling way! In our fear, will we turn our backs on the very things that have defined the Gelfling race since the dawn of Thra? Peace? Harmony? Unity?

Kartak[1]
Kartak

Kartak was a male Gelfling of the Drenchen Clan who lived during the late Age of Harmony and early Age of Division. He lived among the Spriton as an advisor to Carn during the Makrak crisis, advising against antagonizing the Makraks, as they had only attacked Podlings at that point.[1]

He accompanied Carn to the Castle of the Crystal to form the Alliance of the Crystal with the Skeksis Empire, but was dismayed upon learning that the primary condition for Skeksis protection was to provide weapons, citing that war was against Gelfling principles.[1]

Despite his reservations, Kartak refused to listen to Raunip when he pointed out the dangers of the alliance, claiming that he was merely jealous that the Gelfling no longer needed either him or his mother Aughra.[1]
