300px|right|Fizzgig throws a fit Fizzgig (which is apparently his name, not his species) is a small, fierce, furry dog-like creature that is Kira's pet. He resembles a fluffy hairball. He has a tail and two feet, and is almost all mouth, which is full of two rows of sharp teeth, one of which is near the back of the throat. He gets around mostly by rolling or jumping. His temper can range from a whimper to a roar, depending on the circumstances. Despite his size, he is very brave and has attacked a Skeksis twice. Kira's invitation to him to ride the Landstrider (she was going to leave him behind before going to the castle) was pivotal, since it was Fizzgig that bit SkekUng and prevented him from getting his hands on the shard that Jen had dropped, buying Kira enough time to fly down to retrieve it.

Fizzgig is the first to meet Jen when Kira finds him in the swamp. Jen sees something rush across his path into a hole in the ground, and, upon investigation, Fizzgig jumps out and frightens Jen so badly that he falls into the swamp. Fizzgig is at first wary of Jen, but eventually grows to trust him.

Fizzgig's species is not known, and no other members of his species are seen
