The Mondo Levidian was a Behemoth indigenous to the Silver Sea that only surfaced once every trine. It was so large that its digestive tract could accommodate an entire ecosystem consisting of a rich variety of gut flora, as well as the descendants of victims it had previously swallowed, including the Boblings and Zoa.
Thousands of trine ago, the Mondo Levidian swallowed a fleet of Podlings, who survived in its intestinal tract and adapted to the point of developing into the Boblings. Millennia later, it devoured the Hope of Thra containing All-Maudra Seladon, who escaped after bestowing gifts to the Boblings.[1] Some trine later, it destroyed the Scalene Anchor, thus preventing Mayrin and Kam'lu from reaching skekSa and averting the Age of Sifans.[2] It subsequently swallowed both Mayrin and Kam'lu, who made contact with the Boblings and planned to escape via the Mondo Levidian's porticol, or blowhole.[1]
The creature eventually resurfaced and expelled the two Gelfling from its porticol. In the process, it was sighted by skekSa, who vowed to capture and tame it, naming it "Vassa" in memory of her previous vessel.[3]
