Bolentor, also known as the Stone Tower, was a tall rock formation located deep within the Endless Forest.[1] The Stonewood Clan built the village of Stone-in-the-Wood around it,[2] and its younger members would traditionally climb Bolentor on their Name Day in order to carve their sigil upon one of the stones located on its peak.[3] The peak of Bolentor included slabs with Dream etchings of Jarra-Jen's adventures.[4]

The origin of Bolentor was largely unknown, as the boulders it was composed of were not indigenous to the Endless Forest, some of which were traceable to the Claw Mountains and Grot. Song tellers came up with numerous, often contradictory stories explaining the discrepancy. Some narrated that it was the creation of a giant who gathered stones from every corner of Thra in order to mark the center of the world. Others believed it was simply vomited from the earth, while others dismissed it as the droppings of a giant bird.[2]

Most Stonewood, including Thriya, preferred to believe that Bolentor came to be when an unnamed Gelfling, popularly believed to have been Maudra Melyff, cried out her loneliness and was answered by the mother of the mountains, who pushed boulders down to the Endless Forest in order to keep her company.[2]
